- The negative values listed above may be divided into both positive and negative values so as to create the total tolerance range, if specified in the purchase order.
- For steel bars that are heat treated and pickled after cold working, double the tolerance of the next lesser (inferior) class in the above list and use that as the tolerance.
- Tolerance classes 14 to 18 are not applicable to stainless steel with a basic size of 1 mm or less.
